Visual Art – San Francisco

Hi I’m Sam Blake, I grew up in the small town of Bolinas, CA and now reside in Chico, CA where I am studying graphic design, printmaking, and business at the University. My artwork is a mixture of various printmaking techniques such as etching, lino-cut, aquatint and screen printing. My printmaking work has created a style for me within my pen and pencil drawings as well. I also like to practice photography which within itself has been an art form that helps me better appreciate and observe my surroundings. I like experimenting with different mediums to challenge my creative subconscious as well as my conscious brain. My father is a metal sculpture and musician, my uncle a woodworker, my grandfather made large multi-color screen prints, and my great grandfather a furniture maker. For me continuing in my families tradition is just as important as making the art itself.
