Fashion – Denver

Shantell Harpster, set her first roots down in South Eastern Idaho. She spent much of her childhood around her grandfather, who was a well known and successful potter. Through his guidance and creative spark, he empowered her to believe that, she too, could move mountains with her art. Later in life, Shantell became close with her friend and mentor, Kelley Bennett, who inspired her to express herself through the medium of fiber arts. Starting with patchwork and moving towards more advanced sewing techniques, Shantell was able to hone in her refined style and skillset. She spent three years creating wearable art with the artist collective, Family of Light Designs. This enabled her to further tune her skills and participate in making the community at large a more brilliant and colorful place. With Kelley’s encouragement, Shantell found joy in creating unique hemp ware. Not only did this ignite a deep love of organic clothing, but inevitably lead her to create her own natural pallet while learning to hand dye on her own. She now creates her wearable art in Denver, Colorado where she finds inspiration around every corner.
