Visual Art – Toronto
Sherry Shayan, born in 1993, is an Iranian visual artist currently living in Toronto, Canada. Sherry has completed a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering at Ryerson University and currently working at Matrex Window System Inc, but that couldn't stop her to pursue her dreams of being an artist.
Working primarily in painting, Sherry has been exploring the new modern life aside with natural and sensational part of human kind, which in most of the cases are being ignored or faded. Using simple shapes and raw colors, she's trying to show these two separate worlds. A mixture of concrete items and spiritual ones is shown on her works by using flat layers and simple elements.
Being an immigrant and remaining faithful to her background as well as accepting the reality of the modern life was a challenge for Sherry. She tries to express herself in different aspects while remaining connected to her soul.
