Music – Tulsa

33. Daniel grew up going to Christian school in NEOK, and in church toured with an ensemble on mission trips and competitions. The summer before he went to college on a vocal scholarship, he got his first guitar, and for the next five summers would lead praise and worship for around 500 campers each week. During the colder seasons, however, would go to school and start maturing as a writer, and coming into his own as a singer/songwriter. After a year of doing nothing he moved to Austin and started playing shows, and got a job as security/stagehand. That was \'02. Over the next few years he started developing as an acoustic guitar player with a traditional, but unique finger picking style, strumming patterns, but ultimately a vocalist at the core, lyrically turning from vague to blunt, Daniel \"Slowheen\" Goheen would play up and down the I-35 corridor. In \'06 he lost his father suddenly, and his still grieving mother entered into an abusive relationship, so in \'08 he moved back to OK. The next year he lost his roommate/best friend/work partner of 10 years to an overdose. The healing process, and passion for expression comes through in his music. Although classically trained he would attest that it is these recent experiences that have made him the musician/man he is today.
