Visual Art – New Orleans

Our names are Jackie LeVan and Max Fritze. We met almost four years ago and have been collaborating ever since. We\'re both 22 years old, and have been participating in art shows/festivals for the past three years. We draw (constantly), paint, make paper mache masks, stop motion videos, and photography. We are always looking for new mediums and more people to collaborate with, so let us know if you\'re interested! If you\'re interested in our artist statement, here it is-- Our work focuses heavily on the abstract. We have an over-arching belief that there is no intrinsic meaning to the universe as a whole. This idea use to create schisms between day to day life and the desire to create, often leaving us worn down. Through the struggle of creating we kept inching forward trying to find a reason behind it. We then realized, if there is no intrinsic meaning behind it then it is up to us as a whole species to create what we want to see in the world. We encompassed this into our work, hopefully changing the question from What is the meaning of life? to, What meaning do I want to create? We have our meaning behind our works, but we are more interested in what you see.
