Sophie Carey is a bicoastal artist based in Baltimore and Los Angeles. Born and raised in LA, Sophie moved to Baltimore to attend MICA and graduated in 2018. Their work includes painting, drawing, fiber arts, puppetry, and immersive installations. Sophie works both abstractly and with their own twist on surrealism. They also create creatures that can inhabit an alien installation world called Prodigiumundi, or stand on their own as soft sculpture art dolls. Environmental action is also very important to the artist, so they love to work with recycled materials to make found-object sculptures. Sophie invites you to step into their colorful world of psychedelic monsters and swirling skies and hopes you have a wonderful time.
