Sosha Oshaye

Music – Kansas City

Sosha Oshaye (born Sonya Oshaye Anders) has been gracing the mic since the age of three. When asked where her inspiration to sing came from she answered, “My mother (Eloise Anders) has been a huge inspiration to me. From the beginning she taught me to “always give God your best.” Anyone that has heard her sing knows she leads by example. I can’t wait for the world to experience the anointing that God has given her. She is phenomenal.” Other music influences include Jill Scott, Erykah Badu, Chaka Khan, Earth, Wind, & Fire, Kirk Franklin, and Dorinda Clark-Cole. Like many artists, Sosha Oshaye began singing in church choirs and groups. From “The Sunshine Band” as a tot, to “The Voices of Praise” in middle & high schools, to Vessels right out of college, she has been grounded in gospel music. “I will never stop singing gospel music. It’s my foundation. I’ve been singing it all my life. My mother and father use to play Walter Hawkins’, B,C,& S and Andre Crouch records. It was our Saturday morning clean-up music”. Sosha Oshaye began her singing career in 2007 with “Unit 1”. Reggie (Reggie Regg) Robinson & Travis (G-String Puller) Johnson (Unit 1 band leaders) saw potential in her and asked her to be a part of the band. “I absolutely loved singing with Unit 1. Reggie Reg pushed me to sing different types of songs and listen to different genres of music to develop my style.
