Visual Art – Montréal

With only a pencil and no studies or degree of art under her belt, Stone taught herself entirely and manage to develop her skill for black and grey realism. Her main medium is pencil, but dabbles occasionally in the colorful world of coloring pencils and acrylic paint. It is true that Stone was naturally born with some of the talent she possesses, but it was her strict upbringings of a Chinese and African-Canadian household that helped her develop a keen eye for detailing, and the ability to focus and be patient with her work. Regardless of what difficulties life has tried to throw at Stone, or obstacles that she encountered, she eventually and always came back to her art. Returning her back to sanity. Why? To Stone, each artwork is more of a puzzle. A well thought out puzzle. With each concept, comes a plan. With each outline, comes structure. With each shading, slowly develops a vision. And with each detail, becomes reality.
