Art has always been an important part of my life. As the caboose of 5 children, I grew up being taken along to all of my mother\'s artistic adventures. She is an artist and calligrapher and she has always been passionate about learning new things and experimenting with different techniques. After I graduated from college I struggled to find an artistic outlet that fulfilled my desire to create. Then five years ago I was challenged by a friend to make her birthday gift. I created a simple pair of wire wrapped earrings and a bracelet and was immediately hooked.
Jewelry design fills that artistic niche. I continue to use gemstones and wire, but my primary interest lies in precious metal clay. This unique medium allows me the freedom to sculpt and carve pieces that when fired in a kiln result in handcrafted metal jewelry. I also love to work with people to create custom designs. Whether they want to express an idea or message for someone special in their life or capture a memory for themselves, I love to create things that are meaningful to others.
