Photography – Chicago
Photographs have the powerful reputation of documenting the truth, and based on habit, photographs are still looked at by most as reality today. Because of this, photography has the amazing ability to document the imaginary.
Photography is a tool I use to recreate the past, bring to life non-existent worlds, awaken alternate realities, and to introduce viewers to characters based purely on my imagination. I see the camera as my portal to the otherwise unobtainable, and a means to visualize what isn\'t there.
As a photographer I focus my work on creating staged images which are inspired by oddities from 19th century history. I enjoy incorporating props, costumes, and special effects makeup into my photo shoots, as well as miniature dolls, doll houses, and hand-made dioramas.
