Performing Art – Phoenix

I am a self-made, homegrown performance + visual artist. My main medium is dance + movement. I took a number of dance classes growing up, and finished out my last classes in high school. My Dad passed away suddenly when I was 16. I became incredibly hopeless and depressed. I gave up dancing due to depression, only to find myself dancing through my grief + sadness. Dance has become a way of emotionally expressing myself through out life. I tell my unique story of grief, love, depression, wonder, and self-discovery with improvised movement and dance. I have not had access to a dance studio for some time, so I utilize my large living area for movement. I do not choreograph my movements, but rather allow them to choreograph me. I move where my spirit goes + then takes my body. I have a strong relationship to yoga, as well. You can find me incorporating yoga postures into my dances. For as long as I can remember, performing has been one of my greatest passions. I feel most alive when I am in movement, with music, lights, and a community to share my deepest emotions with through dance. Aside from dance recitals, it wasn’t uncommon for me to hold solo performances at my house as a kid. Striving to reach a greater platform, I go live on Instagram to share my movement and emotion, with others who may find meaning in it, too. It is my dream to share my story through dance with the world, and inspire others to find healing and expression through movement and dance.
