Taylor Mason Art

Visual Art – Newcastle

Taylor Thompson and Mason Vanderveer joined forces after connecting on Facebook. Our styles are vastly different, and the contrast between Taylor's soft realism and Mason's harsh line-work and use of colour creates striking images. Detail is key with our collective style - our pieces need to have an impact close-up as well as when viewed from afar. Taylor is self-taught, and has been drawing realistic portraits since her HSC. When her HSC Body of Work was selected from over 300 entries for the Gosford Regional Art Gallery's 'A Central Vision' exhibition in 2014, Taylor's art career began to take shape. Since then, she has developed a small business, drawing portraits for people based on images they send her. Mason has had a passion for art from a young age. Pop culture icons play a significant role in his art, and many of his favourite musicians were the centre of his early pieces. Intricate line-work and abstract features are the focus of his work, but he has branched out to incorporate bright colours into his later style. He operates with a variety of media, including stencil work, spray-paint and watercolour. We love to work with people and create something that is unique to your style, whether that includes a collaborative piece or something individual.
