Ted Z and The Wranglers, who hails from Southern California, has been a fictional concept in the mind of Ali (lead singer, guitarist, and previous bassist for the outfit Handsome G) for the past several years and started taking root when Ali completed a flurry of songs while his previous band was on an elongated break. Ali brought his idea to long time friend and ex-drummer of a mutual band, Mike Layton. Layton also happens to be skilled in other instruments, such as guitar and harmonica, and is now lead guitar for The Wranglers. Together, Ali and Layton utilized Michael Myers, a rock drummer and experienced percussionist, and asked long-time friend, Dan Mages, to join and take over the bass chair. With the completion of all its members, Ted Z and The Wranglers has a unique sound of grassroots, blues, Indie-Folk-Rock, and Alternative Country that touches on the organic themes of politics, love, the environment, childhood imagination, and rawness of humanity. Live shows have been energetic and continue to gain momentum from larger audiences. This band’s purpose transcends through their heartfelt lyrics, soul, and passion.
