Gabrielle Tesfaye is an interdisciplinary artist versed in painting, collage, film, puppetry and installation art. Tesfaye uses the body as vessel to personify ancestral, emotional, and celestial ideals through the female body, transforming ancient symbolism into contemporary languages and consciousness. When installed, her work creates narratives together, as storytelling for the voiceless is something she is also passionate about. Exhibiting her work from Chicago, Brooklyn to London, Tesfaye is expanding to travel with her art and grow to create an in depth puppetry practice in the realms of audience participatory installation, animation and social justice theatre.
