Shu Yi Chai is a fibre artist and designer behind The STIL Creative.
Growing up, she had always enjoyed creating and making things with her hands. She learned to cross stitch at 8, joined the friendship band party in her teens, attempted crochet, and taught herself to knit.
Her macramé journey started unexpectedly, but once she began knotting and weaving, it felt absolutely natural; she can't stop and don't want to!
Her vision is not only to create beautiful fibre arts, but also to source and use materials which are natural and eco-friendly, and connect with others through her work.
Shu Yi lives in Brisbane and is a full time mum to a smart and cheeky 2.5 year old, wife to a very supportive husband, and CEO of her one woman business. When she's not creating bespoke fibre pieces and chasing after her daughter, she also enjoys photography, yoga, and a good cup of flat white.
