Visual Art – San Francisco

Tiffany Wells is a concept artist who’s passion satellites around nautical experiences. Pseudoscience, and music. As a young adult she apprenticed under Joe Curtis a seascape artist who is currently still mentoring her. He is a well-known muralist here in the Bay Area working with various companies such as “The Boardwalk, large restaurant chains, The Ferrari Ranch in Pascadero, and some historic facilities. The long line of artists she grew up with such as Walfreido and Dave Dalton was the root of it. She later further her studies with, Suzanne D’arcy, Thomas C. Starnes Jr., some fellas at the Steambot team, which further solidified her unique painting style. Between jobs with Curtis, Tif led children to their imagination by teaching for three years at Susan Gallery Art School. Projects and crafts intertwined with unlimited imagination of adventure and role play she became inspired through storytelling. This led to her fascination with a man named Papa Joe who owned a tattoo shop down the street. The way he would tell a story enthralled Tif. Tiffany has been a tattooist since 2001. Later she opened up her own studio in 2005 called The Tat Shack, gaining her a whole new style or art and long list of clients who of course have their own stories. Tiffany was captain of that ship until 2008. She obtained her BA in animation and VFX at the Academy of Art University and learned to take dreams into motion. This is where she met Kathleen Quaiffe (Wave animator). She mentored Tiffany on various types of experimental animations as her ideas began to move. At AAU she also learned Corel Painter/PS, Aftereffects, TV paint, Maya, Stop Motion, and how to write flash fiction stories. "Helping others design and execute an image that captures the audience on a level that connects companies to their commercial vision is always the goal.", she says. She seems interested in game deign at the moment. Tiffany has had exhibits at the Art League, the Michael Angelo Gallery, and the Haleiwa Art Festival. She also loves volunteering for the Santa cruz Art Council from time to time.
