Beauty – San Diego, CA

I’ve been passionate about the beauty industry even years before I was actually licensed and pursuing it as a career. I would cut and style and do makeup on all my friends in high school- not sure how they trusted me then but they did ❤️ I was afraid to commit to the industry, commit to something I was so passionate about as funny as that may sound. I didn’t want to lose my passion for it, I didn’t want to stop loving it. Kept it mostly as a side thing until I was really trying to figure out what I wanted to do with my life and how I could express myself. I scheduled a tour at Paul Mitchell the school San Diego and immediately fell in love. I felt at peace and at home. I was surrounded by a bunch of passionate individuals just like me that were looking to express themselves and be themselves. Making the decision to start there was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. I started working immediately after I graduated and obtained my license. At one point- working at a corporate salon I started to really resent what I did...boom! Exactly what I was afraid of. I was in a salon where I absolutely loved my team but I wasn’t happy. There, it didn’t seem to matter how passionate we were, how amazing we were at what we did, all that seemed to matter was the money that we were bringing to them. I really contemplated what to do, thinking to myself what would I do I do different, what type of experience I would give my clients if I could....suddenly I knew what I had to do and even tho I was scared, I was about to make the best decision of my life. I opened up my own salon studio. I take pride in what I do, I love what I do. I love that I can brighten someone’s day just by creating, just by using my talent. I thinks it’s rare to find a hair artist that genuinely loves doing subtle and bold, blondes and brunettes. I love that I get to paint outside of the lines and that I’m really really great at it. I love that I’m not one genre...I’m kind of all over the place and my clientele totally expresses that. Bold, blonde, brunnettes, and basic...but not basic at all. My hair studio is in Little Italy and Little Italy has always been a happy place for me, so it’s fitting that I’m there. And there I get to create. Inspire. Paint, and really connect with each indidvial who comes to see me. It’s truly gratifying. ...more
