Performing Art – Nashville

Travis Cooper started his dance training as a junior in high school at Nashville School of the Arts under teacher/mentor Stacie Flood-Popp. After graduating, he immediately relocated to Los Angeles, to further his training with a yearlong scholarship at the top professional studio, The EDGE Performing Arts Center in Hollywood. While studying at The EDGE, Travis worked with a faculty full of the most sought out teachers and choreographers in the industry to include Mandy Moore, Tessandra Chavez, Tabitha and Napoleon, and Sonya Tayeh of So You Think You Can Dance. His career began to blossom after the scholarship program providing him with opportunities to dance for Matt Cady, Unity Dance Ensemble under the direction of Tessandra Chavez, and collidEdance lead by Erica Sobol. He has also been an assistant to well known choreographers Erica Sobol, and Andre Fuentes. Travis toured internationally for two years with the queen of disco, Donna Summer's on her Crayons Tour. He has appeared in a Hilton commercial; as well as many music videos to include “F*** You for Cee-lo Green (dancer), “1994” for Jason Aldean (choreographer and dancer), and “Doesn’t Get Better” for Alex Aiono (dancer). Travis can also be seen as a principle dancer in three episodes of the hit ABC television show “Nashville.” His choreography credits include two full live concerts for pop artist Helene Michele, a thirty minute concert piece entitled “Reclusion” for Found Movement Group, and many award winning pieces for Middle Tennessee area dance studios, to name a few. Travis currently resides in Nashville, TN, where he performs as a principle dancer for Found Movement Group, and is Artistic Director for Found Youth Movement Group.
