In my formative years I never truly excelled at (or even pursued) art, but I was fortunate enough to be constantly surrounded by it. I grew up with several artistically inclined family members, as well as a very supportive group of friends who collectively possessed a myriad of individual talents. Slowly I learned that art is more about comfortability and self-confidence than anything, and as I began to trust myself I found expression came easily through writing and photography. Though I still pursue these passions in my free time, my proudest creative endeavor to date is my Solar System Bracelet. Wanting to give something very special to a friend for her birthday one year, I had in mind a specific style of jewelry that, in all my scouring, simply did not seem to exist. Undeterred, I started sketching out ideas and within a few weeks was physically holding this thing that didn't exist before in my hand. The feeling of creating something so meaningful out of something so small was wonderful, and since then I have found enjoyment in hand-making jewelry of all varieties. I enjoy working with glass and ceramic beads as well as natural stone and draw inspiration from all aspects of life. I currently live in Philadelphia and attend Temple University working towards completing a Bachelor's in Environmental Science. I someday hope to work for the National Parks Service.
