Fashion – Raleigh

Virginia Cole is native to North Carolina. Her interests in fashion began when she was old enough to hold a magazine. Her grandmother, a North Carolina garment factory worker, nurtured her fashion interests and provided magazine subscriptions to Vogue, Elle, Mademoiselle, etc. Virginia’s former professional background is cosmetology and she practiced in the trade for seven-teen years before starting the path to change career fields. In 2017, she completed formal training and earned a bachelor’s degree majoring in Consumer, Apparel, and Retail Studies, concentrating in Apparel Product Design with a Studio Art minor. She simultaneously began earning credits towards a masters in the same field and graduated in December 2018 from UNC-Greensboro. As a student, Virginia participated in the Pink Power Fashion Show 2015, Threads Fashion Show 2015 and 2017, Big Hair Ball 2016 and 2017. She won the 2018 Audience Choice Award for Triad Goodwill’s annual Rock the Runway fashion show. She also participated in Charlotte Fashion Week 2018 presenting three collections in the Emerging Fashion Designer, Fashion Meets Art, and Recyclables Showcases. Virginia’s aesthetic is International Modern Eclectic; however, she is not a conformist. Fashion, for her, is a journey strongly influenced by the zeitgeist. There are no preconceived expectations, just the journey. She is fearless and wonderfully created.
