Veronica Cabrera

Visual Art – Atlanta

b. 1985 I was raised in the west side of Puerto Rico, in the valley of Pinales, near the coast line of Anasco. In 2003 I was accepted at the Escuela de Artes Plasticas in San Juan, Puerto Rico; where I earned a BFA degree in painting. Following undergrad, I made the decision to move to Savannah Georgia; where I currently live and attend the Savannah College of Art and Design in pursuit of an MFA in painting. I always had a great interest in sculpture and installation art, and so, I had made it part of my formal practice today. Working in these mediums opens the possibilities to the use of a diverse range of materials such as fabric, different types of plastics, woods, plaster and most recently concrete. My interest entangles between the clashes of human inorganic and organic relationships within himself and the environment by the exploration of contradicting elements and possible forms of evolution.
