Performing Art – Atlanta

I am from Chattanooga, TN. I graduated college from MTSU. Growing up, I was always into arts (Visual and Performance Arts) and sports. Dance was one of the arts that stood out to me. When I was a kid, I used to get invited to family and school parties where I would be asked to hiphop dance in front of the crowd. In 5th grade I was introduced to the Ballet Tennessee Nutcracker, and in 7th grade I received a scholarship to train at Ballet Tennessee. About midway through my year long Ballet Tennessee scholarship program, I stopped to focus on other arts and sports. In 2012, at MTSU, I began dancing in an organization call MPAC. I wasn't a good dancer at all, but I continued participating in MPAC each semester because I loved the passion and fellowship dance brought me. In the Spring 2014 Semester (my graduating semester), I auditioned my first dance piece to be placed in MPAC's biannual student choreographer showcase and my piece made the show. Its amazing because a dancer spoke to me after the show and told me that my piece inspired him. I moved to Atlanta, GA in late 2014. In January 2015, I began training in hiphop, jazz, contemporary at Dance 411. I started off there extremely rough as a dancer, but it wasn't until late 2016 that I began to shine as a dancer and choreographer. I also began training in African Dance at Uhuru Dancers in 2016. I have danced with several local artists, and have participated in several showcases in Atlanta including Vybez Showcase, Pure Heat Atlanta, and Emerging. I continue to create concept videos for songs that I have choreographed to. In late 2016, Voyage ATL published an article about me in dance, choreography, and fitness in Atlanta. The most amazing piece to my journey is that I have been able to accomplish all that I have accomplished thus far despite being diagnosed with Temporal Lobe Epilepsy and Hypothyroidism. I really want to be a living proof that you can achieved anything that you put your heart into despite the obstacles you come across in your journey.
