Visual Art – Nashville

Born and raised in the Nashville area, Thomas embraced artistic endeavor from an early age. Despite this early affinity to the arts, he would receive training only through his high school years. After a long hiatus from art through his collegiate pursuits, it suddenly reentered his life in a drastic way through a series of spiritual pieces in January 2010. Since that first series, Thomas has developed a unique style and approach to the process of artistic pursuit. Each painting is driven by impulse and energy rarely seen in two dimensional pieces, embracing the very fabric of his own existence. Through the ordinary mundane moments and the extraordinary events of life, the effects and senses of each moment pour out on the canvas in a play of motion and the figures concealed therein. Beginning in 2012, Thomas began working on a completely original art form which he now calls video manipulation photography. This new style combines photography and live video to create one-of-a-kind abstract images. After three years working with this method, Thomas released his first series of video manipulation photographs in 2015. "Every piece of art is something new. The process is never the same, the viewer is never the same, and I am never the same...as it should be." -Thomas Royalty
