Visual Art – New Orleans

I have been making art my whole life long- graduated from Tulane university with a double major in French and Art an went on to build my own little art business, an to teach in several different schools. I am currently teaching art to grades k-7 at The International School of Louisiana, a language immersion school in New Orleans. I participate whenever possible in art markets around the city, and am currently involved in several community projects. My newest project which Id love to showcase with RAW, involves old musical instruments, so far just guitars, opened and painted on the inside. I use the body of the guitar as a shadowbox to incorporate 3-D pieces that bring a viewer into the painting. The back of the guitar is also painted on the inside, then attached with a hinge so that it can be shut and opened to reveal the art inside. My paintings have an emotive aspect to them that makes them abstract, allowing each person to take something different from the work, and also a component of realism that makes the work accessible to all kinds of art lovers. I use acrylic, oil, and occasionally mixed media and wood panel.
