Adrian Delgado

Visual Art – San Francisco

Adrian Delgado is a young artist who paints to change the world. Painting is his way of expressing emotion, creating sense and finding clarity. His inspiration and themes include his local environments (which range from cityscapes, bridges, and churches as well as images of nature), his cultural background, and the people which he surrounds himself with and all of the emotions they bring forward. Adrian has been nicknamed \"the visual poet\" for his art jumps off of canvas and relays layers upon layers of emotion; evoking meaning. His creating process begins aggressively, he creates a focus, based on reality, then enhances to create his own reality, giving his work immense detail and balance. His art can be described as a mixture of realism, surrealism, expressionism and chicano-rasquache art, but really his art is in a category of its\' own. Drunkality, as he calls it, began during a period of alcoholism, in which Adrian searched for a way to numb his pain and senses through art. The period of alcoholism passed but Adrian\'s technique of Drunkality remained. Drunkality became a reality of art that is warped and only seen when the body is no longer focused on the real rather that which is felt and seen in numbing the senses; creating while unconscious, letting the paint flow onto canvas and speak silent poetic words. His work is universal, and telling of our time, based on a generation living in between the assimilation of traditions of our immigrant Catholic parents and modern society America and its\' diversity; Adrian expresses this and so much more in his mix medium art work.
