Amy Baldwin

I am Amy Baldwin, a twenty-nine year-old visual artist, and I specialize in very textured, very bright, modern and abstract pieces of art. I am a self-taught artist born and raised in Dallas, Texas. I have no formal training, although I took an art class a semester, my senior year of high school. I have always been creative starting as a young child, and I developed a love of art early on, and I immediately took to acrylic paints. In 2013, I began doing more abstract works, and actively avoiding the realistic style I had done my whole life, I had made a decision that changed my art, my ability to sell, and my confidence as an artist. The first success I experienced was in September of 2013. The very first piece of art that I EVER sold was shortly after I posted pictures of some new pieces of mine on Instagram. This action landed me my first sale. This sale was when it clicked for me that this was my calling. On February 21, 2014, I did my RAW exhibit show in Dallas. I sold eight paintings. Later, on May 9th, 2014, I did a private show, selling eight paintings that night. I love my job. It allows me to be me. It allows me to learn who I am even more every day!
