Visual Art – Melbourne

I am a self-trained artist, native to Melbourne. I grew up mostly around the green wedge suburb of Eltham, a very arts focused part of Melbourne and the home to Montsalvat, the renowned artists\' commune established by the Jorgensens. My creativity was strongly encouraged as I was growing up by my family, friends and teachers (even though the doodling in my notebooks drove them mad) but only recently started focusing on creating art seriously instead of for recreation. Adapting various techniques through observation and practice, I use a range of mediums including, but not limited to, acrylic painting, polymer clay sculpting and drawing. Lately I have started dabbling more in photography and painting whereas my preferred mediums have always been drawing and sculpting. I have a Bachelor of Arts and have a passion for literature, drama and film. When not creating artworks I make Travel Bugs, am a teacher, history buff (especially Australian history) and die-hard Doctor Who fan. I live with my son and cat and a sizable figurine collection.
