Visual Art – Portland
Arthur Braud was born on October 31st, 1993. He obtained his K-12 education from the Parchment School District in Parchment, Michigan. In 2015 he received his BFA in Painting from Western Michigan University. He currently resides in Portland, Oregon as an artist of the Alberta Street Gallery and as a community and self employed teacher. Though he works with a variety of different mediums, he focuses in watercolor. Inspired by past social traumas and modern surrealist portrait artists, Arthur's work deals with the contrasting ideas of beauty and devastation. He plays with the fragility and unpredictability of his mediums to accurately portray the underlying psychological state of his subjects.
