Visual Art – Portland

The texture you see in my work is the attempt to create emotion that refuses to be contained and thus removes itself from it’s stagnant place of being ‘simply there’. I dropped my brushes and picked up a palette knife for the first time sometime in 2004. I was instantly drawn into my work in a way I had never been before, finding a new to feel and express, losing time and not remembering where the hours spent painting had gone…..actually having a need to create. Today I share this work with everyone and everywhere I possibly can. People who see my work are drawn to it in a way that I could have never hoped for. My paintings, for some, are able to express feelings and emotions that they cannot. A piece starts with me and finishes when it finds its home, and they only go where they are meant to.
