The Batista Collections is a woman owned company created and founded by Milagros Batista, Master Knitter. Milagros is an immigrant woman who came to the USA during her early teenage years. Her interest in knitting and crocheting began at the tender age of 7 in her native country, the Dominican Republic. At the age of 12 she designed and made her first dress. She continued knitting and crocheting all through her adult life. The company was created two years ago. In 2016 Milagros Batista was honored by the Dominican Day Parade as the Ambassador of Fashion, the first time such an award was bestowed on an individual.
