Brenda Lyons

I am an illustrator and leather maskmaker living in Manchester, Connecticut. I received my M.F.A. from the Savannah College of Art and Design in 2009, and in addition to creating art, I volunteer with birds of prey at a rehabilitation and education center. My work could best be described as a fantasy inspired by nature and dreams. Birds are the primary subject in my work, which best express my emotion and inspiration. In my masks, I stylize the real world in a way that both complements and elaborates, and when worn, intensify the beauty of both mask and wearer.
