Carito Plaza

Carolina Plaza Hamame, better known as “Carito Plaza”, was discovered with the band, FunkReal, when she emigrated from Concepcion to Santiago(Chile’s capital) in 1998. Carito has participated as a background singer in various groups and collaborated with various bands essentially in the Chilean music scene. Some of these include: Raiza, Cfunk, Boomer, Solodimedina (La Pozze Latina), Mawashi, Dj Bitman, Keko Yoma, Kocy Mergenc (MC and producer from France), Bernhard Hollinger Group (Germany) with whom Carito made her first tour around Europe in 2012. In the year 2009 Soul music, energy, taste and sensuality where the ingredients that Carito Plaza succeeded in combining with her soft voice to give life to her first solo album. “Sabor A Chocolate“(A Taste of Chocolate) the independent debut of this Chilean singer/songwriter of Arabic roots is the outcome of a conscious progression and comes loaded with a delightful energy that ranges from soul to funk, pop to bossa nova and other universal music trends such as Nu Soul and Acid Jazz. Her charismatic voice has aloud Carolina to performance in important stages and festivals such as “Rock al Parque” with the band FunkReal (Colombia 2004), “Rock en Ñ” also with the band FunkReal (Chile 2003, Perú 2004), Maquinaria (Chile 2010) and Lollapalooza (Chile 2012) with Dj Bitman , Colors night light Festival Chile featuring the Venezuelan, grammy award band “Los Amigos Invisibles” (2013) and Gustock Festival (Chile 2014). Recently Carito has been working in composing new songs that will be part of her new album.
