Carrie Pietz aka Carrie and the Clams

2012 Indianapolis RAWards Musician of the year, Carrie Pietz. Carrie was born in Pontiac, Michigan and grew up on the outskirts of Detroit. She started playing guitar and singing at the age of twelve. When she was fourteen she started charming the hearts of her audience, by playing local coffee shops and small venues, opening up for her uncles band. When she was twenty-one she moved to Indianapolis, Indiana and there she created her first serious band called \"All Things Blue\". The band eventually went their separate ways and she decided to continue with her solo career and playing in other bands such as The Peggy Sues, Carrie Pietz and the Sunny Disposition and now currently touring as \"Carrie and the Clams\". Carrie and The Clams is featuring Jessie Phelps (from Jessie and Amy), Ari Applewhite (from The Peggy Sues, Black Guy White Girl and Life Before Cars) and Amanda Coppes (from The Peggy Sues and Jumpstarr3). Carrie and the Clams is a all girls band, playing original music from both solo albums of Carrie\'s. She has collaborated with some amazing artists such as John Marque, who has drummed on and helped produce her last two albums, and Allison Miller, who is also producing, as well as playing a few drum tracks on the new album \"stars\".
