Visual Art – Adelaide

Dave Court is an emerging Adelaide artist whose practice utilises the mediums of painting, screen-printing, illustration and design. Dave studied Visual Arts, specialising in painting, at UniSA. He graduated in 2013 with honours and was selected for 2014 Helpmann Academy Graduate Exhibition. Dave’s practice deals with a wide range of themes including appropriation, art history, pop culture and escapism. His diverse skill set is evident in his works thus allowing him to push boundaries of colour combinations, composition and subject matter. Dave’s complex works see his textural and gestural experimentation find balance through an execution finely tuned by his studies. Along with participating in solo and group shows Dave has been and continues to be an active participant in the Adelaide art scene. Dave has worked as a curator and organiser of several exhibitions including the tenbyten charity exhibition and the pop up immersive art experience that is Mr IST. In conjunction with his fine art practice, Dave owns and operates his clothing label foolsandtrolls. He produces Australian made and ethically manufactured hand printed tees.
