Hello, my name is Armana Embaie. I am a First generation Eritrean-American. I was born in Nakfa, Eritrea (East Africa) and came to the states when I was 5. I love to travel and witness the variety of cultures the world has to offer. In 2010, I took a trip back to the motherland for 3 months where I documented and witness the rich culture Eritrea had to offer. What inspired me to channel my inner craft skills was being able to speak and watch local artist who make jewelry and designed clothes, with the little resources they had. Watching art come to life, made me feel like I could make anything. I returned to the states, did my research and taught myself how to make my own jewelry. With time and practice, I expanded my jewelry making skills and made variety styles of jewelry (Wire, chain, bead embroidery) . My goal is to incorporate the cultures of Africa in my one of a kind pieces. I love that my jewelry sparks conversation because it isn\'t something you see in stores. It is through those conversations that I educate people on the richness of Africa!
