Erika Hibbert’s artwork is mostly executed in inks, charcoal, graphite, oil paint and photography and is linked to drawing, painting, and printmaking. Erika Hibbert’s work approaches the boundaries of the wonderful and disastrous, torn between the desire to void, and the necessity to acknowledge, the human condition. Hibbert is an Ampersand Fellow, and her work has been shown, and can be found in collections, across Africa, Europe, Asia and North America. Hibbert was born in South Africa and spent most of her life in Johannesburg. She lived in Botswana before relocating to Atlanta, Georgia, USA, in 2009.
