Erika Salumbides

Visual Art – Orange County

Erika Andres Salumbides always had a passion for art and creating things. At a young age she always knew she was a natural born artist at heart. As a child she loved drawing, painting, and crafting. As a teenager she started writing her own poetry and loved creative writing. It was not until the age of eighteen that she discovered the world of jewelry making. When she walked into her very first bead store in Los Angeles she was inspired to make the most unique jewelry no one has ever seen. She wanted every piece to tell a story; to not only be a piece of jewelry but a piece of wearable form of art. Erika never took a jewelry class and everything was self taught. She wanted uniqueness in her jewelry and started out by experimenting with various types of materials. You will find that all of Erika’s pieces tell a story, created from an inspiration from the world around her. To Erika making her jewelry is just the same as creating a piece of beautiful painting, sculpture, and drawing. It is creating a piece of artwork from a blank naked canvas, and seeing your work transform beautifully in front of your very own eyes.
