Visual Art – Northern Rivers

After a 10 year background in photography and graphic design I began to take my own art seriously about eight years ago. I began approaching galleries with some success- I sold a number of works but I wanted the world to see my art. I wanted the people on the street to know about me not just the gallery going minority. In 2008 I painted a series of works on cardboard and put them up on the street during Blues Fest. They were destroyed by the weather. The following year I spent about 3 months painting portraits of some of my music heroes. This time I used MDF board and sealed them to resist the rain. I also accompanied them with a sign stating that they were there to be taken. I\'ve since completed several of these street exhibitions. 12 months ago I screen printed 100 signs which read \"WARNING: DO NOT READ THIS SIGN\" These signs have since appeared on the streets of Sydney, Brisbane, Gold Coast and Byron Bay. I am selling t shirts from my website to raise money for the project. This work will continue. In the past 2 months I have made a return to painting with a batch of work ready to hit the streets of Brisbane in the next few weeks.
