Dreams of Chestnut Street

Dreams of Chestnut is an Americana duo from Austin, TX. Members include Ramon Gonzalez on guitar and voice and Lauren (Ren) Lewis on cajon and percussion. They met via Craigslist in Fall 2013 and have been playing ever since. Ren had been on a 2 year hiatus from music and was desperate to make music again. Ramon was fed up with all the Craigslist flakes and just wanted to find someone honest to play music with. They met, jammed on Ramon\'s porch, and the rest is history. If these 2 aren\'t musical soul mates, I don\'t know who is. If they\'re not jamming on at Ramon\'s house, aka the Gypsy House, you may see them hanging out at the Whitehorse or the Gypsy Lounge getting inspired by some live music. What are the origins of the band name, you ask? Well, to avoid I-35 traffic going home from work Ren would take the back roads down Airport Blvd, to MLK, to Chestnut Ave. On her way she saw this funky, mango-colored house, and day dreamed of what it would be like to live there. When brainstorming ideas for the band name, Dreams of Chestnut Street just made sense.
