Music – Los Angeles

Originally from Omaha, Nebraska, Tehillah is a 21-year-old singer/songwriter currently living in Los Angeles, California. This Omaha native discovered her love for music after attending A Cappella Academy––a Los Angeles-based summer intensive for high school students around the world to sing and learn more about the art of a cappella music––her sophomore year and changed her entire career path to reach that goal. Her junior year, she was chosen as one of thousands of applicants to be a part of the High School Honors Performance Series Choir and was able to travel to New York City to perform with this group in Carnegie Hall. Switching gears from classical to contemporary music, Tehillah was chosen as one in a pool of over 12,000 applicants as a 2016 YoungArts finalist. As one of only 22 vocalists, she had the opportunity to travel to Miami, Florida to attend the 35th annual National YoungArts Week, perform in the New World Center, and work with a number of Grammy award winners and professionals in the music industry. Only weeks after returning home, Tehillah flew out to Los Angeles for her live audition at the University of Southern California and was accepted as a Popular Voice major. Since beginning school in the popular music program at USC, she has joined the school's premiere a cappella group The SoCal VoCals––most notably recognized as the only a cappella group to win the International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella (ICCA) five times––she has been involved in a recording session with Glen Ballard, the writer of "Man in the Mirror" by Michael Jackson; she has performed on the Bélo Awards with late-night television show host James Corden; she has performed at Seth MacFarlane's annual Christmas party; and she has gone on tour in London with the VoCals. Additionally, Tehillah has recently begun writing and performing original music in multiple venues around the city of Los Angeles, and she is in the process of professionally recording some of her tunes. Tehillah is excited to be back in Omaha for the RAW Verse Festival and is ecstatic to share a piece of her art and her heart with the city.
