Jamie Rix

The colors, textures and sounds of the world are central to Jamie\'s work. As everyday scenes and forms pass through her personal filter, they become abstracted and take on a softer and more lyrical appearance. Her first painting was literally born of the the blues. While listening to Muddy Waters one night about five years ago, the music began to take shape in her mind, the sounds coalescing into visible form and color. The image continued to evolve and gain clarity over the next few days. Compelled to bring this idea to life, she took up the brush. Thus began her adventure into what has become a passionate and constantly evolving process of discovery.
