Jenny Marie Wurz

As a self-taught artist, my work is guided by life events, and the energy I surround myself with. It is a way for me to practice mindfulness while focusing completely on the present and what I am creating. I grew up in upstate New York and went to school in Boston at the Massachusetts college of Pharmacy and health sciences. I am currently a practicing primary care PA in San Francisco having come from a background of Emergency and International medicine. To me, medicine and painting are alike in many ways, both being art forms which translate across all spectrums of humanity and bring us together in a universal form of communication fostering basic human needs of access to health care, and fostering cultural creativity. Through focusing on my painting this past year, I have truly come to appreciate how the creative outlet can serve as a form of medicine and how supporting each other fosters its own community of healing and self-discovery through art.
