Visual Art – San Diego

Jessica is originally from Portland, Oregon but has lived all over the West Coast and even spent 8 months in China. She is happy to call sunny San Diego her home for the last seven years. Jessica's passion in life is not only to create but to help other's realize they too have the ability to express themselves in a creative way. Staying true to this life's purpose she started her own business called Inspire San Diego Studio which is an art studio offering classes and private parties with the goal to inspire San Diegans to live a more vibrant and artful life. www.inspiresdstudio.com Making art is more then just making a pretty picture. It's about being in the moment with yourself and truly connecting to the feelings you want to express. Jessica believes art has given her the gift of self expression to help her heal and navigate this sometimes difficult yet beautiful journey called life. Art is a spiritual experience in fact she strongly believes being able to create something from nothing is the most important gift we are blessed with from the universe or God or whatever you personally call it. Her style is graphically influenced with touches of surrealism, mixed media, and contemporary design. Jessica's work conveys deep seated memories, emotions, and societal messages about being a woman in the 21st century. Through her works she tackles tough subjects from body image, childhood traumas, the need to belong and the loneliness of feeling like you don't. A Favorite quote: "The earth would just be 'eh' without art."
