Visual Art – Chicago

James was born during the 80\'s in Indiana and brought up in Burbank IL. Due to this upbringing he learned through an urban setting just outside of Chicago. Around him his settings were extremely industrial. From growing up around high tension wires and trucking depots with busy intersections filled with lights and noise. This has fueled this self taught artist to attempt to create a view of the world where he wishes for more serenity and less hustle and bustle. Except even with James\' want and need for this he is still always focusing on a structural integrity brought forth by an industrial upbringing and the exact symmetry that nature creates. It is able to be seen that James is influenced by a few major artists in history. He shows a strong influence of early impressionistic artists like Monet and Van Gogh. Yet he also shows many contemporary influences such as; Jackson Pollock and has shown a masculine side to the stylings of Georgia O\'Keefe. James is also moving towards the understandings and stylings of found art and using what other people may call trash and transforming it into what it really is, beauty. \"We may have created these Industrial giants, but God created where this imagination comes from.\"
