Spencer Caligiuri

For me, painting is a tool or technology used to give birth and recognition to subconscious visions and to act as a therapy of practice for those creating it and interacting with it as viewers. It is a way of exercising intention within the mind and the coordinating communion between brain, eye, and hand as they fuse together to create an idea and embed it in the physical world. I believe as an artist, one acts as part shaman or mediator between the dimension of the mind/spirit and the realm of the flesh/Earth to bring forth visions and share the idea of what may lie beyond. I am 27 years old and have been creating art since I was a child and only recently in the past few years truly dedicated myself to it in a much more intense way, almost as a drug to enhance my understanding and generate a greater wisdom and respect within on how to approach life. It is my mission to engage and promote creativity, humbly learn as much as I can from those around me and the many great minds that have come before, to respect the artistic process and journey, and to always push myself to create at the highest potential level that I can.
