Visual Art – Milwaukee

I fell in love with art in the 4th grade. I started drawing people and I couldn\'t stop. Then somewhere during young parenthood, I fell in love with watercolor. Oh, so many gorgeous colors that so much could be done with! However, in spite of this fervor, I merely dabbled. Three preschoolers, career searching and schooling, a marriage to maintain - life was in my face. After the preschoolers became adults and went off into the world and I left one career for something different, there came a period of personal growth. A short burst of painting! But alas, the dabbling reemerged. That is, until about three years ago when I joined this wonderful art group full of inspiring, talented women who created together weekly and - I. Caught. Fire.! I absolutely love working with bright saturated color and I can\'t plan out ahead of time how a piece will turn out to save my soul. I work intuitively, usually starting with a sketch or a rough idea, and letting the paint take me where it wants to go. In other words, I play, and hope the joy contained in the doing shows up in the final product. Knowing that something I create might lift your spirits so much that you want to take it home with you fills my heart to overflowing.
