j.s. Hebert

j.s. HEBERT J.s. Hebert is an artist/illustrator originally from Boston now residing in sunny San Diego. An artist since birth, and an illustrator by schooling, he graduated from Montserrat college of art in 2006. Although going to work for the family construction business right out of school, Hebert, is now pursuing his passion for art. He has done countless commissions from large custom murals, to portraits, children's book illustration, tattoo designs, logo's, and sold many personal paintings. Put simply he describes his work and process as follows: I see the forest for the trees. I see faces in everything. I enjoy suggestion riding right along side ambiguity. I enjoy the roughness of abstraction nestled around realism. I allow my eyes and hands to have a conversation that doesn't entirely involve my brain, and with each session I discover how beautiful that can be. Stream of consciousness is the best way i describe the evolution of a piece. One decision can visually influence the journey, creating the unforeseen, and perhaps something wonderful.
