Visual Art – Connecticut

Well, I come from a long line of artists - our family tree includes painters, fine art professors, photographers, graphics artists, glass blowers, singers, writers, and poets. As a child, I was drawing every single day - a fresh new piece of paper and a sharpened pencil were dreamy to me. I poured over my children\'s books, staring at the illustrations, marveling at how the artists were able to create such beautiful pictures, and I would try to copy them. As I got older, I continued to draw and paint, I took every art class available in high school, and then some. After high school, the need to earn a living soon overtook the majority of my time, energy, and focus, and I found myself immersed in the corporate world - my creative energy pushed to the back of my consciousness. After some time, I found myself yearning for that connection to that vibrant energy that seemed to stream through me while I was drawing. I completed fine art course work at WestConn, and then attended the CT Institute of Art. For the past several years, I have been balancing my work at an early learning center and raising my young son and have had little time for art. This has changed as of late; I find myself once again unable to resist that creative flow, it is front and center in my consciousness, and has now interwoven and blended with all parts of my life.
