Jubilo Drive

Music – Orange County

Jubilo Drive is an eclectic rock band from Orange, Calif. Inspired by the scenic landscape of California, they have started a journey to create music that reflects the emotions of the geography they inhabit. The band was formed in 2012 at when guitarist Jordan H. Kleinman invited bassist and singer Hayden Vaughn to jam after meeting at a party. Shortly after, Kleinman met and invited guitarist and graphic designer Henry Kuckens to write songs with them. When the band moved off campus the next year, and with some convincing, drummer Eric Cruz became a permanent member. The four members have a varied taste in music, and draw inspiration from rock, psychedelic, soul, funk, jazz, punk, jam, metal, and other world music. The band has concluded that their mesh of influences has resulted in their eclectic sound, containing a healthy balance of let-loose carelessness and passionate story telling. Jubilo Drive released a self-produced EP, Redwood, in 2013, along with a few single releases. Soon after, they made their Los Angeles debut at The Roxy, preparing them for a self-managed 2014 summer tour around Southern California. Since then they have gone on to play over 60 shows around the region at venues like the Silverlake Lounge, the Slidebar, the Mint, Trip, Santa Monica Boardwalk, City National Grove of Anaheim, and sharing bills with A$AP Ferg, Adrian Young (No Doubt), and Gardens & Villa. While gigging, they borrowed some recording equipment, and spent 6 months recording in their Orange County garage, to produce their first record “Taqueria.” In the summer of 2015, the band ran a successful crowd funding campaign to release the record independently, set to come out October 2015. The band hosted a release party in Echo Park to celebrate, drawing 150 people to see their set. The band is currently working on new material while supporting the new album.
