KM Collective

KM Collective is an emerging clothing company featuring the singular style of designer Kim Mesches. His graphic chic incorporates unique fabric treatments, distinctive silhouettes and sleek design. Kim graduated from FIT in fashion design. Kim began designing at an early age, and KM Collective’s dynamic style grew out of his work customizing sneakers in high school. Kim took an old pair of sneakers, painted them with graffiti-inspired graphics and wore them around town. People loved them, and ordered customized pairs of their own. To date, Kim has designed over 50 pairs of shoes, including customized sneakers for Nike and for celebrities such as Lupe Fiasco, DJ Pauly D and Angelina from MTV’s Jersey Shore, Lamar Odom of the LA Lakers, Mos Def, Talib Kweli and Tech N9ne. He expanded to graphic T-shirts as well as a line of womenswear called KIMBO. Kim’s vibrant graphic style won him a design job at the backpack company “Access Bag N’Pack.” Currently, his backpacks are sold at Staples and several other national chain stores. In 2008, Kim became Associate Designer for designer Anne Bowen, designing high-end eveningwear and bridal gowns.
